Audit and Assurance

At Stanley Yule, we can help your organisation meet its compliance criteria by auditing your accounts. In addition to being a member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, we are also Registered Auditors. This a unique service we offer in comparison to our competitors as Audit work is nowadays more associated with the larger accountancy practices. As a result of this, you can rest assured that we can support your business’ requirements at a much more reasonable cost to the larger practices.

We are experienced in auditing a range of sectors covering Charities, Pension Schemes, Academies, owner managed businesses etc.

A statutory audit may not just be a requirement of statute, but is often required for other reasons e.g. a requirement by a finance provider, shareholder agreements etc. An audit can also be beneficial to identify areas for improving profitability, expanding the business, streamlining costs, easing cash flow, or brokering a sale.

Non-statutory audit work can also be undertaken to provide assurance on reviews of financial information, help your organisations systems and procedures to be reviewed to identify any weaknesses which require improvement.

If you need an accountant you can talk to and a first class service at a reasonable cost, contact us to find out more.

Ian Bidmead (FCA - Partner)

Ian qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986, initially training with a major independent Birmingham firm and after qualification moved into specialist management consultancy work, with focus on business planning, rescue, management buy outs and buy ins. In 1991 Ian purchased the practice Stanley Yule, with the intention of bringing the specialist skills more associated with larger practices to his clients at a cost base more appropriate to their circumstances.

Ian has dealt with most of the business acquisitions and disposals handled by the firm, and given the great success in guiding clients, this has been a steady and regular source of work for the practice over the years, specialising in deals for the smaller business (up to £10m consideration). In addition to the consultancy work, Ian is the lead responsible individual for the audit work whilst also dealing with specialist taxation issues and has a wide and practical experience in dealing with all types of HMRC enquiries.
Outside of accountancy, having business interests in manufacturing has given Ian valuable insight into the running of a business that is not accountancy based; experience which he can apply to his dealings with our clients.

For down time Ian likes to spend time with his family, especially his two grandchildren, enjoys good music, food and film and is known to throw himself around a badminton court with enthusiasm, if not a great deal of skill.
